About Dr. Bello
Background:
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where I earned my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology. I also hold both my undergraduate and Master’s degrees from Loyola University Maryland. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Intercommunity Action in Philadelphia, where I provided treatment and assessments to both children and adults facing a variety of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, and trauma-related disorders.
I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from the Capital Institute for CBT, where I completed my post-doctoral fellowship and further specialized in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. Additionally, I am trained in providing gender-affirming care through The Fenway Institute, one of the leading centers for LGBTQIA+ healthcare. I believe in a patient-centered focus, helping clients make meaningful progress in their mental health journey. Outside of the work I do with my clients, I love spending time with my family and playing with my dog, Jax.
Specialities:
I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, OCD, and depression in teens and young adults. Many of my clients describe their symptoms as "debilitating," often feeling like it impacts their relationships, work or school, and even their ability to experience joy. This can happen when someone feels "stuck" in what seems like a familiar pattern of anxious thinking and behavior.
As such, I use evidence-based, effective therapy techniques to help clients challenge these patterns and step outside their comfort zones. My goal is to guide you toward a place where you can manage your symptoms more effectively, so they no longer control your life. I am credentialed through PSYPACT and licensed to provide teletherapy in 42 participating states.
“If you’re looking for: someone direct, laidback, and who uses a little humor (you’ll often hear my motto in session: “Humor Heals!”); a genuine relationship with your psychologist who acknowledges that she is also human; someone who challenges you to think about things in a different way; and who guides you to changed behaviors, then we will work well together. I also welcome and encourage my clients to challenge me too – after all, you’re the expert of your life, I’m here to help you make meaningful changes. My therapy techniques are based in research, and I often share a lot of that research with you to help with motivation (knowledge is power and the more proof we have that things work, the more likely we are to try them). If you’re looking for a psychologist who is straightforward, relatable, and believes in the power of research to drive real change, let’s get started!”
